TOBA TEK SINGH: Students took out a rally here on Saturday in
protest against alleged errors in intermediate part I annual results
compiled by the Faisalabad Board of Intermediate and Secondary
Education.
The rally, led by Islami Jamiat Tulba Tehsil Nazim Mian Inzimamul Haq, started from the Government Municipal Postgraduate College.
The protesters marched on Jhang Road and reached Shahbaz Chowk where they staged a sit-in for two hours causing traffic blockade on different thoroughfares. When the participants reached Canal Road to get support from students of private colleges, harsh words were exchanged between IJT leaders and staff of a private institute.
In the meantime, city police reached the spot and baton-charged the protesters. As a result several students, including IJT City Nazim Mian Ahsan Raza and Secretary Umair Zafar suffered injuries.
The police arrested IJT Islamia College Unit Nazim Muhammad Inaam and some other students and later released them.Dawn.
