Eligibility Criteria for Degree / Diploma and MCPS Courses in Medical and Dental Disciplines
MBBS/BDS from any teaching institution recognized by Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC), Islamabad.
Valid Registration with PMDC as Medical/Dental Practitioner.
One year Resident House Job in a recognized institution with six months in relevant discipline or its allied specialty or 05 years’ experience after completion of House Job is mandatory.
For M.Phil./M.Sc./M.P.H. courses, one year Resident House Job in a PMDC recognized teaching institution is required.
Foreign graduates will have to produce equivalence of their degree from PMDC and the Equivalence Committee of Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences, Jamshoro.
Candidate can apply only for one degree course at a time, however candidate can apply for one or more diploma courses at a time, subject to the condition that he/she should not apply for more than one diploma courses of the same faculty and allied sciences.

General Information

1. All Application Forms for each course can be obtained from the Habib Bank Limited, LUMHS Branch, Jamshoro on payment of non-refundable fee of Rs.1,500 (rupees one thousand five hundred only) and are to be submitted at the Postgraduate Medical Center, LUMHS, Jamshoro.

2. A separate application form is to be submitted for each course or training program:

a) Fee schedule for Pakistani candidates is as under:
Degree courses: Rs.40,000 per year
Diploma courses: Rs.20,000 per year

b) Fee schedule for overseas candidates:

For all courses: $10,000 per year

3. No separate call letters will be issued for Part-I Examination/Entry Test. Candidates are advised to follow the important dates given in this document. However university reserves the right to make any modification in the schedule.

4. The university reserves the right to change the rules for postgraduate studies as deemed necessary to improve the training programs.

Schedule for Admission
Application Forms to be issued from HBL, LUMHS Branch, Jamshoro with effect from: November 21, 2011
Last date for submission of Application Forms at the Postgraduate Medical Center, LUMHS: December 05, 2011
Display of list of eligible candidates: December 06, 2011
Issuance of admit slip with dates and venue of the Entry Test: December 15, 2011
MD/MS Part-I Examination for degree courses and Entry Test for M.Phil./M.Sc./MPH/Diploma and MCPS will start from: December 20, 2011
Final display of list of all selected candidates: December 30, 2011
Commencement or start of academic session 2012 from: January 01, 2012

Important Notes

For private candidates selection in any course will not be entertained for admission after January 31, 2012 and no selected candidate will be allowed to join the course after due date by any mean.

Private candidates shall submit an undertaking on Court Paper, duly attested by First Class Magistrate, that they are not employed in any department/organization.

It is mandatory for in-service candidates to apply for admission through their employer. Applications Form for the postgraduate admission session 2012 of in-service candidates will not be entertained without NOC/Permission of their parent department/employer.

It shall be the responsibility of the selected in-service candidates to get themselves relived from their parent department/ employer on or before March 30, 2012. No in-service candidate shall be allowed to join after March 30, 2012 with permission/deputation from their parent department/employer.
